Iberian ham, a gourmet food in the cradle of haute cuisine.
The students and future chefs of the School of Hospitality of Paris discovered this delicatessen, while a road show taught the art of the best cut in the city of the Seine.
(October 2018) France became one of the great epicenters of the campaign "Ham Passion Tour" driven by Iberian Hams from Spain and the European Union (EU), which will travel 25,000 kilometers throughout Europe and 24 cities until 2020 to inform and highlight the benefits of this high quality production in areas such as food safety, traceability, labeling, nutritional and environmental aspects and animal welfare.
On October 17th, the actions started with a demonstration to the future chefs of the School of Hostería de París (Lycée Jean Drouat) and the media about the wide possibilities of this product to be used in this gastronomy.
In this context, master cutters taught the future chefs of the French capital the art of cutting Iberian ham -which is revealed as one of the main factors to fully enjoy its aroma, unmistakable texture and flavor-, inviting them to become great prescribers of this "top" food.
