A PASSION THAT INSPIRES FUTURE EUROPEAN CHEFS
At the Interprofessional Association of the Iberian Pig, ASICI, we feel a true passion for European gastronomy, and for its young talents.
For this reason, with the collaboration of the EU, we decided to organize various virtual and interactive masterclasses in some of the main European Hospitality Schools: University of West London, Lycee Jean Drouant and Billiard Hospitality Schools, and Guillaume School, Hospitality School Brillat Savarin Schule, Extremadura Higher School of Hospitality and Agrotourism.
All this, to support and inspire emerging chefs, called to mark the gastronomy of the future.
Through various workshops with Iberian Ham as the protagonist, we were able to bring the Passion, tradition and culture of this product of ours, to the students in their final year of the Schools in the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Spain, as well as to their teachers, who acted as prescribers and amplifiers of the campaign messages.
Despite the restrictions caused by the pandemic, the Hospitality Schools made a great effort to adapt to the new formats and host these online seminars, in a virtual environment, due to the enormous interest among the students. Because the Passion for Iberian Ham crosses borders, and also formats.
In this context, the master cutter Sylvain Foucaud made an exhibition of the art of cutting, essential to be able to enjoy the flavor and aroma of Iberian Ham in all its splendor. In addition, these masterclasses also featured technical talks, creative plating courses, sensory tastings and practical sessions, where the students received the necessary notions to work correctly with Iberian Ham, as well as learning the differential values that make it a unique product in the world.
An unforgettable experience, which we’ve organize for the third consecutive year, and where more than 1,000 participants have enjoyed it, including students, teachers, chefs and bloggers, and that now you can discover it on video!
