Iberian Ham, a gastronomic reference for future Basque chef
The hospitality students will be the prescribers of tomorrow of one of the star foods of the Mediterranean Diet
Iberian hams from Spain and the European Union have organized master classes on November 19 of one of the star products of Spanish cuisine, Iberian Ham, for students and professionals of the Superior School of Hospitality of Bilbao, in the presence of the president and of the director of the Interprofessional Association of the Iberian Pig (Asici), Francisco Javier Morato and Andrés Paredes, respectively, as well as Manuel González, technical director, and Jesús Pérez, director of Communication.
In this context, master cutters have made an exhibition of the art of carving - fundamental element to be able to enjoy Iberian Ham in all its splendor, with its unmistakable flavor and aroma – in front of the future chefs, inviting them to become great prescribers.
With this activity, framed in the promotion program "Ham, the passion of Europe", the Iberian sector aims to show the versatility of the product and the high standards of quality, traceability and food safety of Iberian Ham, one of the gastronomic references of Mediterranean diet.
